Boyes to Buffalo

Brad Boyes has been traded to Buffalo for a 2nd Rounder.

Buffalo's new owner sent a big message late Sunday night by trading for St. Louis Blues' center Brad Boyes. Boyes was a first rounder in 2000 by Toronto. He has 41 points through 62 games this year. The 28 year old will add offense to a Sabres team that is scraping to make the playoffs. Boyes hit 43 goals in 07-08.

Buffalo is two points out of 8th with two games in hand on Carolina. This move is a steal for Buffalo and could mean that C Tim Connolly could be moved for another piece for the playoff run.

Buffalo will be a big player tomorrow. At least in talks.

St. Louis may be indicating that they could be sellers. Which is surprising giving their good start and the impressive core they have. However, sending out captain Brewer and Erik Johnson might mean the Blues front office has had enough and might want to start over.
